Mission & Impact 

The Pennsylvania State Chess Federation (PSCF) is the official state affiliate of the United States Chess Federation. Our mission is to promote, organize, and expand the game of chess across the Commonwealth for players of all ages and skill levels.

Supporting a growing community of over 30,000 active members, the PSCF works to ensure that high-quality chess is accessible in every region of the state. We achieve this by:

• Sanctioning State Championships: Organizing premier over-the-board events, including scholastic state championships and adult state qualifiers.

• Empowering Local Clubs: Providing resources, organizational support, and digital infrastructure to local scholastic, collegiate, and community chess clubs.

• Fostering Development: Certifying Tournament Directors, supporting chess coaches, and publishing The PennsWoodpusher to keep our community informed and connected.
