Purpose
The Pennsylvania State Chess Federation (PSCF) is the official Pennsylvania state affiliate of the United States Chess Federation (US Chess), the ruling chess body in the United States. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to promote the game of chess in Pennsylvania. We believe that playing chess has many benefits in developing young growing minds and maintaining mental sharpness throughout adulthood. We promote chess for all ages.

In meeting the needs of our diverse chess community, the principal activities of PSCF include active sponsorship of scholastic chess; sanctioning, scheduling and oversight of official state championship events; and working to help maximize the involvement, coordination and success of the many individuals and organizations involved in chess throughout Pennsylvania.
